A Bit About Me
I am an interior architect, a business owner, a devoted wife and proud mother of three beautiful daughters and one adorable cocker spaniel.
I enjoy photography, travel, margaritas and new experiences. I am happiest with my family or dancing and laughing with friends. I believe that the glass is half full (but top it up anyway:).
I’ve been a piano teacher and travelled through over 55 countries with my soul mate. Together we have waded through the Bolivian Amazon, slept under the stars in the wilderness of Namibia and danced upon bars in Santorini.
Above all, I am a very ordinary woman who has good and bad moments and isn’t immune to life’s challenges. Sometimes I am insecure but mostly I’m striving for the courage and confidence of a tiger. I don’t need designer clothing and believe that ultimately, it is the woman with self-confidence, an easy smile and interest in others that will be the most beautiful in the room.
We are all a work in progress and I am on a journey to create the best version of myself. In doing so, I want to leave this earth a little better off than I found it.
Welcome to this little corner of the internet I’ve claimed for myself, to create and hopefully, inspire. This is where I share my journey to simplify life and the lessons I learn along the way. So, do you want to join me on this ride?
Why Create A Blog?
After the birth of my three children and 10 magical, liberating, crazy years of motherhood, I arrived in my forties feeling like I’d lost a little of my identity. My clothes didn’t fit or flatter, I hadn’t adventured anywhere exotic or spent any time alone with my soul mate for a decade, my fitness was dubious at best and probably dismal in reality and I needed a creative outlet.
I had the love of my family and friends, a beautiful home and my career in design, but I was in search of a new challenge. I felt like I had stumbled through my thirties in ‘survival mode’ and I needed a plan to get the most out of life.
I see myself as very ordinary and hopefully someone that others in their 40’s can relate to. Someone mature (well ok, not always) – someone with a youthful spirit. Someone that shops at Westfield (not Gucci or Chanel) but embraces her own unique style. Someone that is juggling family, a career and trying to get the most out of life.
This blog is the journey of rediscovering my inner magic – my confidence, my unique style, my strength, my purpose – creating the best version of me and living a life I love.
Our stories all matter and are the most interesting thing about us. In sharing a little of mine, I hope it allows me to connect with others. After all, it’s the people you meet on life’s journey that matter most.
This blog is dedicated to my three beautiful daughters who are fast becoming strong, loyal, kind and confident young women. You inspire me every day!
