If you love nature and appreciate the simple things in life, you might like to dip your toes into the pure spring waters of Christmas Creek and experience a romantic getaway at Nightfall, the ultimate glamping experience.
My Tiger had his 50th birthday this year and to mark the occasion, with some trepidation, we took off into the wild and unknown for two weeks. It was our first real experience away from our girls in thirteen years! We were worried that we would pine, that we would miss them too much to enjoy ourselves – that we would not make it back to them. (There were other thoughts too, like: What on earth will we talk about?) Alas, we did miss the girls and were very excited to return – but we had the absolute time of our lives and now I think we’ve caught the bug! So, I was super excited when my tiger surprised me with our next escape, two nights at Nightfall.
Travel not to find yourself, but to remember who you’ve been all along.

NIGHTFALL LOCATION
Nightfall glamping experience is a wilderness retreat approximately 2 hours’ drive south-west of Brisbane. It nestles in the shade of an escarpment, hidden away on the banks of Christmas Creek, adjacent Lamington National Park. It is an all-inclusive glamping experience like no other. When we visited, west of Brisbane was in the grips of a severe drought with the fields barren and parched. The spring fed Christmas Creek however, bubbled plentifully, crystal clear through pristine rainforest and beckoned us to take a dip.

NIGHTFALL GLAMPING ACCOMMODATION
If you like serenity, nature and the finer things in life, then look no further. Each spacious glamping tent has been simply constructed. Your safari-style tent comes complete with a comfortable bed made up with beautiful organic linen, his and her antique baths in front of a crackling fire, an open rain shower and hand-carved stone basin, ample storage, cosy sitting area and small kitchenette. I loved the feature rotating fire that allows you to see the flames wherever you are within the tent.

NIGHTFALL SPECIAL LUXURIES
It is the added luxuries that make this experience memorable. Think champagne and cheese platter on arrival, simple fresh meals served in-front of the bubbling creek, soaking in twin tubs scented with bath salts in front of a crackling fire, nights under the stars and tranquil rainforest walks with a picnic lunch. Add these touches to the natural beauty, cool mountain air and peace and quiet and you have something pretty special. This is a place to completely unwind and rejuvenate!

At $795/night Nightfall is a pricey weekend best kept for a special occasion, but the experience is completely unique and the serenity, hospitality and location unmatched. The price includes all meals, drinks and snacks as well as a well-stocked open bar (yes, you heard me right – bring on the baileys in front of the fire!). There are also optional extras like massages available for those that need some extra pampering.

The hosts Steve and Jaide are passionate about their vision to touch the earth lightly with their sustainable venture. They went out of their way for us. Once they heard of my love for a G&T it didn’t take long before our fridge was stocked with freshly sliced limes and ice cubes to compliment.
Would you like to dip your toes in the pure spring water and check out Nightfall. Nightfall is a place where life is simple and ruled by nature and the seasons. It makes you realise how tiny you and your problems are and allows you to completely unwind from the stress of city life. This complete serenity and the unexpected little luxuries are what make nightfall – the ultimate glamping experience.
By discovering nature, you discover yourself.
