Find joy in everything you choose to do. Every job, every relationship, your home … it’s your responsibility to love it, or change it.
DESIGN + INTERIORS
I love being inspired by the bounty of creative minds we have in Australia. Experience the beauty of the stunning Art House project created for a growing family that wanted a calming space within their city home.
Studio CD Design is based in Sydney and led by creative director Claire Delmar. Claire’s passion for art and ceramics is so evident in this project. The furniture, artworks and bursts of colour bring a sense of playful, bold fun to the grand heritage home. Art house was shortlisted for the Australian Interior Design Awards 2020.
A BRASS TRAY
Sometimes it’s the simple things that add a little sparkle to life. This simple brass tray is the perfect accessory to protect your stone or timber surfaces. It allows you to group small items that would otherwise look a little ‘lost’ together into a beautiful statement collection. You can read how to more about styling your clutter into stunning arrangements here.
The brass finish adds a little bit of luxe, but the price tag is fantastic. That to me is the secret to clever design. Finding cost effective pieces and displaying them alongside other more expensive collectables and treasures gathered from nature or on your travels. STYLE + BEAUTY
EYE OF HORUS GODDESS MASCARA
Who doesn’t love long, thick lashes? The 2020 Beauty Award Winner, Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara is Australian made and cruelty free. This is a wax based mascara which gives lashes strength, length and separation. It is also buildable if you want more volume.
Great for sensitive eyes, water resistant and conditioning. I have found that this mascara doesn’t clump or smudge and wears perfectly all day long without dropping ‘dust’. It’s super black in pigment but also easily removes with warm water and facial cleanser. My best mascara ever! Full Size $36, Trial Size $21 at Adore Beauty
BUBBLE BATHS (With A Friend)
Relaxing bubble baths with my youngest daughter are becoming a gorgeous ritual. She picks the relaxation music while I bring on the bubbles big time and light some candles. Then we chat about life and make beautiful memories – there may be the odd foot massage too!
It’s special one on one time and our escape to unwind and be in the moment together. We like to mix our own bubble bath and scent the water with lavender oil.
My little scientist takes it a step further by making a sugar scrub. This is beautiful to massage into your skin so that when we finally emerge our skin is baby soft and softly scented. Her recipe is to mix 1 cup castor sugar, the tea from 2 herbal tea bags (like ginger & lemon or apple), 2 tablespoons oil (jojoba or almond are beautiful, but olive oil would work fine too) and 5 drops essential oil (we use orange). Ahh … you’ve got to try it!
