Sometimes life can feel like hard work. We all need a gentle nudge from time to time, to remind us of the little things that spark delight. I’m sharing a few things bringing JOY into my life in the hope of spreading some feel good vibes to you too. Whatever you’re dealing with this week, you can do it! So let’s get to it. Here’s 6 things I’m loving in my life this spring.
Find joy in everything you choose to do. Every job, every relationship, your home … it’s your responsibility to love it, or change it.
DESIGN + INTERIORS
The beautifully talented, USA based interior designer Leanne Ford can do no wrong in my book. From rustic farmhouses to minimal apartments she approaches each project in a unique way, infusing the story of the space and the owner into the space.
The Collins Project is the perfect example. I love her use of texture and signature white on white. The unusual pairings of the mid-century modern armchairs around a painted Queen Anne dining table. I could spend hours viewing her website for inspiration.
CUSHIONS & HOMEWARES FROM L&M HOME
Velvet, leather and linen feature in the latest collection of luxurious handmade cushions and homewares from L&M home. I particularly love the mona range of iron vases and vessels with their playful, sculptural forms and matte finish. Perfect for your sideboard, or coffee table.
Orders are available through Tea With A Tigress.
STYLE + BEAUTY
MOY TASMANIA CLUTCH
These beautiful clutches by Moy Tasmania are for those who appreciate luxury, quality and something a little different. You won’t find anything else like these! Designed and handmade in a home studio in Tasmania, these pieces are unique and individual. My favourite is the cable knit leather & timber clutch in caramel. Prices range from $140 – $190 per piece.
As Audrey Hepburn said, “on a bad day, there is always lipstick”. So, give a woman the right lipstick, and she can conquer the world. I’m loving my Rageism lipsticks in classic Scarlett & subtle Bloom. These lipsticks are long lasting, creamy and hydrating. With jojoba and coconut oils they don’t dry out your lips and keep them soft and luscious all day long. Made with quality ingredients and cruelty free ethics. $35 each
LIFESTYLE + ADVENTURES
ENJOYING THE BRISBANE RIVER
One of our favourite local adventures as a family is to take in the Brisbane River late afternoon. After a beautiful 1.5 – 2 hour walk along the river you will arrive at Southbank. Here we explore the markets, have a dip at Southbank Beach or grab an ice-cream and then catch the river cat back at dusk, just as all the lights are coming on the Storey Bridge and city buildings. It’s a truly magical afternoon and you’ll get some great exercise too.
We drive to the end of Merthyr Road, Newfarm and park. Join the 870m River Walk from Riverview Court (river end tip of Merthyr Rd). Follow the river past Howard Smith Wharves and the city, through the botanic gardens, around QUT and over the pedestrian bridge to Southbank. Take scooters, bicycles or walk.
